Backend Engineer

Build the systems behind the product, APIs, data pipelines, and the infrastructure that keeps Kolo fast and reliable.
You'll own backend services across the stack: the APIs the product depends on, the pipelines that ingest and process financial data, and the infrastructure that ties it together. The stack is TypeScript and Python
This is a high-ownership role. You'll design schemas, ship APIs, and be on the hook for reliability, not just the ticket. We move fast and expect engineers to push back when something is going to cause a problem later.
You probably
✓2+ years building backend systems in production
✓Strong in Python or TypeScript (Node.js)
✓Solid with relational databases
✓Comfortable with cloud infrastructure: AWS or GCP
✓Can own a service end-to-end: design, ship, monitor
✓Previously worked at an early-stage startup
✓Remote work experience
